TAC Career Start – Tullow and Youth Bridge Foundation Empowers Scholars with a Virtual Career Start Seminar

The Tullow Alumni Connect hosted a virtual career start event on July 10, 2024, at noon. The event was conducted via Google Meet and moderated by Gloria Emeka of the Youth Bridge Foundation. The primary objective of the session was to equip participants current beneficiaries of the Tullow Scholarship with essential skills for navigating the job market.

The event commenced with introductory remarks and a brief overview of the agenda. Subsequently, online beneficiaries were given a platform to introduce themselves. The focal point of the event was a presentation by Professor Ramos Asafo-Adjei, who delved into the intricacies of developing compelling CVs and strategies for effectively tackling the job market. An open forum followed, providing participants with an opportunity to engage in the discussion and ask questions.

To further enhance participants’ employability, the event incorporated a segment on Microsoft Office Suite. A resource person from the Youth Tech Bridge named Alice Donkor imparted knowledge on the efficient utilization of this software package. Tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and others were delved into. Another open forum was held to address queries and facilitate knowledge sharing.

The event concluded with an introduction to Tullow Alumni Connect Editorial Volunteer Corps and closing remarks done by Master Solomon Dodoo alongside relevant announcements. Overall, the Tullow Alumni Connect Virtual Career Start aimed to empower participants with the requisite tools and knowledge to excel in their job search endeavours.
